Jack is nearly 2 (this Nov) and with Sarah being a friend of mine - this was a stroll down memory lane - a little miracle who i prayed for, during the pregnancy and throughout the year...
Sarah and Craig (now known as Mommy and Daddy) started their parent journey as we all do - a positive on that little stick...what an exciting time...
BUT
At 12 weeks Sarah started bleeding - diagnoses was Pre - eclampsia... BED REST was ordered...
A month later Sarah was diagnosed with hyper emesis gravadium - or as we would call it EXTREME morning sickness...Sarah couldn't even swallow salvia without vomiting and bright light made her so nauseous... on top of that her kidneys and liver started to shut down and the blood vessels at the back of her eyes burst, Sarah couldn't tell the difference between Green and Blue...Doctors wanted her to have a kidney biopsy but she chose not to... It was also reccomended that she be fed via a feeding tube as she had lost 10kg since falling pregnant....But Sarah (with the love and support of her AMAZING and LOVING husband - from afar and family) chose to battle on and keep the food down...
Sarah spent 2months in hospital(mostly in ICU) but when she eventually got to go home - it was all good...She went to Dr Bhorat(fetal specialist) he said that despite all that Sarah had gone through Jack was doing very well and he couldn't pick up any Problems...
BUT
2 Weeks later Sarah was ment to attend a birthday party but she had woken up not feeling well, she popped to the shops and suddenly felt as if she had wet herself - Dr Google(we all know this feeling - having done it myself a thousand times) said that Jack was pushing on her bladder - she decided to stay in bed for the weekend only getting up Sunday... Sarah decided to go to the hospital - they told her she had a yeast infection and sent her home with antibiotics...
The next day Sarah back to her happy self was having a good laugh - when there was a gush of all sorts(not doing the details) - she was rushed to hospital where she had to do an emergency C-Sections as she had a rupture... She asked if she could wait for her husband to get there(we forgot to mention Craig works in another country) - Drs agreed as long as she didn't move....
Craig arrived and the C-section happened the next morning, Jack was born at 26weeks with a weight of 1.2kg(big due to Sarah having Diabetes)
Jack was in the NICU for 7weeks (little blessing had machines breathing for him) and a dose of Jaundice - due to lack of Oxygen at birth part of Jacks brain died and he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy - very mild and only noticeable in his legs... He is doing so well...
Not to mention that Sarah(and Craig) could only got to hold him when he was 5days old...
This is a cake smash and first birthday i wont forget - Little Jack such a miracle and i was so blessed to be part of such a momentous occasion...
Thank you Sarah and Craig for letting us share your story...
